That's sad when stores you love close down. There's a store near me that sells vhs 3 for $5. When I have some free time I like to go up there and look through everything, you can really find some cool stuff!

It's sad that the store closed down. Awesome collection you have there.
Especially Disney's Halloween Treat. Any way you could maybe put it
        on YouTube :D:D:D:D:D PLEEEEEEAAAAAAAASSSSEEEEE.
It's OK, next time I'll make you listen. I wish that it were in the power of all children to say that to their parents and to know that indeed they would be heard as we were in those wonderful days on Waltons Mountain.Narrator The Waltons (From the Runawa

That's the only happy part, buying those really rare tapes(Those Golden tapes are Awesome!) I watched Disney's Halloween Treat, it isn't as much as people thought. It's basically scary parts(only scary part is from Tales of Ichabod) from Disney Movies and a talking pumkin that talks about halloween. I'd load it up to youtobe, but I don't know how. Do I need a video camera that plugs into the comp? I olny have an old fashioned VHS video camera. And after buying all these tapes, I can't afford much right now. Wow, I have all of the Gold Edition tapes on ebay except for Pluto and Mickey with a cover(I have mickey without cover. Probably gonna buy both soon, to finish my collection of them.

I am insanely jealous of you and your collection. That was an awesome find. I'd be happier than a pig in slop if that was my collection. Some of my best childhood memories were of watching some of the old Disney videos that are in the pictures above.

Congratulations on the great find. :)

First off, awesome collection! Those gold tapes are real beauties too, they look so purty.

To answer your question about transfering it to youtube, what you need is a tv card for your computer (you get get one really cheap, like 20 bucks), and you hook your vcr up to that, then you use the software to record it to your hardrive.

Still, that's more than I can afford, I'll have to saev up to get it. Do you know if I can get it at a place like Best Buy or do I have to get it off the net?

The best prices ofcourse are on ebay, if you cna find one with reasonable shipping.

But yes, yo ucan go to most any store and find one, might even find one on clearance (how I got mine).

Also, if your computer has a grahic card, it may already take rgb or coax, you might wanna check. then all you woudl need is the software.

Oh, wait, I think it does! Now I know what those help things were. They were for the TV recordings! Sweet. I have an ATI radeon 128 I think, but I know my Video Card is compatible. Where do you get the software?

I loved the Cartoons Classics! I have all of them, except for Donald's Halloween Haunts, Fun on the Job, and that blue Special Edition one I see pictured. I've never even seen that one.
I don't have any of the gold-boxed ones, but I remember renting them often. I'd kill for those DTV videos!
I am deranged, but so, so playful!

cool! yea, i think a lot of the ati's have the tv hookups.

The software should be with the cd that came with your graphic card, if not you can use http://www.download.com/Stoik-Capturer/3000-2169_4-10285947.html?tag=lst-0-1

or find another one online. That is just an example, i have never used it, but it is free so it is worth a shot!.

can you tell me the exact name of the card? I know it is radeon 128, however it maybe a radeon 9800 ect ect, tehn i can help you better.

what kind of hook up does your card have? if it is rgb (the red/green/yellow cords) then just use hook the vcr up to that.

if it is coax (the metal screw thingy), hoo kit up that way using the coax cables.

if its dvi or hdmi use those cords

I found directions to hooking the TV or VCR to the comp in the Getting started part of the readme of the video card. Thx anyway.

I'm gonna need an S-video connector to connect with my Hi-Def TV(Downstairs,w here the computer is). I'm not sure about the VCR/DVD player on my hid-def TV but I know that my TV with built in VCR/DVD player in my room is composite. So The easiet thing I can do is record Video game footage with my Hi-Def TV. Not that hard.
