Back in the early 90s I remember going to the arcades and playing this platformer game that was set in the ancient egypt. The graphics were really awesome, very detailed, the monsters were cool and the player basically had a torch for a weapon. I can't remember if you could upgrade or what but you started out with a torch.

I don't know who it was made by or when it was released all I remember is playing it around 93 - 94.

    Can anyone help?

Also I'm quite sure it was not that off-shoot Castlevania game Haunted Castle.

Could it be Prince of Persia?

I don't think there was an arcade version of PoP. :?

Alex, could you describe some more about the gameplay?

It was along the lines of Castlevania meets Ninja Gaiden meets Shinobi.

It wasn't like Final Fight or Streets of Rage where you could roam around the screen, it was in the "jump n run" category as opposed to bash em up.

Well I'm drawing a blank. The only arcade platformer I remember where your main weapon is fire is Karnov, and I'm pretty sure that's way off from what you're looking for.
