VMP was the German distributor of Cannon Pictures on VHS. This brief opening showcases some of their releases (It looks to be in the1984-1985 area).

Red Bloody words:
"[flying in from the left, right and below, in-order, as their bottoms are dripping, against the monochromed nighttime setting] "Horror", "Blood", "Gore"
Lisa/Bart:
"O-ooo-ooo-oh, yeah." / "Who-ooo-oa."
Man:
"[scenes in order: three hounds barking, a man with a pitchfork backing away, and 4 other villagers backing away, repeat the same animation until the title]"
[narrating] "40 years ago: A film that was so shocking; so terrifying, it was sealed in a concrete vault deep beneath the Earth. But even the new management of Sony/TriStar could not contain the pure evil of... 'The Bloodening'!"
Bart:
"[while the spot is playing; via phone] Milhouse, do you see what's on Channel 6?"
Milhouse:
"[via phone; as he watches the 'Teletubbies' on PBS.] Uh... Yeah. It- It's really something. [he switches to Channel 6, and he 'Aah!'s]"
Narrator:
"[footage of the crowd running away from the screening in its initial theatrical release is shown.] A registered nurse, trained in the treatment of terror, will be on duty during the showing of: 'The Bloodening'. [evil laughter]"
Lisa/Bart:
"[gasped during the middle of the above sentence.]"
Male Announcer:
"[the footage freezes] Now playing at the Springfield Drive-In... after dark."
Bart:
"[via phone again] Milhouse, spread the word: We're seeing this movie; Tonight. That's right; We're breaking curfew."
