If there were no trees, we'd all be dead. This PSA was simply to prove a point about the importance of trees in our ecosystem.

Ok,,, Chowtimer what are you?? some kind of expert?? I would guess things would be pretty bad off without trees,,i don't know for sure I'm no expert,, but i just think it would be pretty bad,,,and besides its just the idea of it,,and i remember this ad from when i was young and i know it got the point across to me!!

Yeah it's suppose to be exagerrated to get the point across. The way everything is in Television. :)

This is why I love RetroJunk. I saw this ad on a site a few months ago, and one day when I checked the site again, it was gone. Thanks for bringing it back :)

And yeah ChowTimer, This is way too overdone. But if the whole purpose of this PSA is to scare people, they did a damn good job!

Okay I get the message of this commercial but this could never happen, and its exaggerated to such an extreme that it makes this ad for lack of a better term, dumb. Even in the event that all of the trees died out you wouldn't need oxygen masks on 24/7 (but breathing would be a harder task). There would still be some oxygen in the air since there would still be some other sources of it remaining. Unless everyone goes all Dr.Strangelove and drops nuclear bombs all over the world, this could never happen.
