I feel this Web TV was like a precursor to the Roku systems

Back in it's day, it was very primitive/innovative to consumers.
And it was also a large backbone to many other things, one example being OnLive
(WebTV and OnLive were founded by Steve Perlman, who now owns a business incubator).
