    My father owned one of these. As a matter of fact, it was the first car I ever learned to drive in, you know, before I ran it through a chain link fence. There was always something wrong with the engine. It idled at 45 mph. I don't think it's supposed to do that.

    I remember this commercial and it created a bit of a stir. There was a segment on 60 min or 20/20 on the making of it, the loop was real. (although the car was operated by remote control)

    these cars were pieces of crap. They had a million defects, a lot of them causing fires.

    oh man, my dad had one of those when i was young. it was black, probably an 87, and it was the nicest car he had. because it was a ford, go figure why he got rid of it. r.i.p. pop.
