And that cursive script dates to 1986 IIRC. It was first seen on a 1986 promo slick.

Celeste Posted 6 years 3 months ago
There\'s one that has the production company\'s name writen in cursive script underneath it. It\'s something that I\'ve never seen before.

But this one I love. :)

I remember seeing this one when I used to watch The Jetsons.

The executives at Cartoon Network miss him the most, though.

Bill Hanna IS dead (1910-2001). As for Joe Barbera (b. 1911), he is soon to be dead . . . he\'s 95 years old right now, will he make 96 in \'07?
    kimsy520 Posted 6 years 8 months ago
Wait...I thought William Hanna was the one who had died.
Celeste Posted 6 years 9 months ago
Taft was the company that owned both Hanna-Barbera Productions and Worldvision Enterprises.
ooliyo Posted 6 years 10 months ago
TAFT! who or what was TAFT?
jerbojones Posted 6 years 10 months ago
yeah I remeber seeing this after the fred and barney show.
    RetroBen81 Posted 6 years 10 months ago
Yes, the Worldvision \"Radar Globe\" first debuted in 1973 (it was a blue globe and company name on a gold background... and no disclaimer, yet).

However, the one you see following H-B\'s logo dates to 1974, and it is a white globe and company name on a red background.
    mr3urious Posted 7 years 1 month ago
^ Well, the original Swirling Star was from 1979. I think the Worldvision \"Radar Globe\" was made in the 70\'s, too!
    girlbornin1983 Posted 7 years 1 month ago
I thought this logo was from the 70s.
Celeste Posted 7 years 1 month ago
From what I understand after Joe Barbera died in 2001 H-B Prods defunct and is now the Cartoon Network.
    musicradio77 Posted 7 years 1 month ago
As I mentioned, Hanna-Barbera was owned at the time by Taft Broadcasting, the company that owns Worldvision and Ruby-Spears. After Taft sold the H-B library, it was owned by Turner Broadcasting, Time Warner and now Warner Bros. Entertainment. I wonder if Warner Bros. released the Hanna-Barbera DVD\'s where it has the classic swirling star closing? This was the original swirling star H-B logo, not the CGI one. The CGI version of the swirling star was remade in the late 80\'s until it lasted in the early 90\'s. But in the late 90\'s, the revived H-B swirling star CGI logo was used at the end of \"The Powerpuff Girls\". Great memory.
