My guess Regroch, is that they were going for a more mature look. You know, for adults? Because only stupid little kids would be caught dead playing as an "elf" or wasting their time in go karts. When their's explosions and hockey!
They probably had to put Mario in, which would explain why he was a upside-down and half cut off blip.

I meant no offense to Blast Crops or Killer Instinct.

I didn't see ocarina of time or goldeneye on there, nor mario kart. How can they make a commercial about the n64 without those games?

they have yet to make a game as compelling to me as the multiplayer feature of Kirby All Stars.

I got my Nintendo 64 for my 9th Birthday. I got the Star wars Racer package with 2 controllers, and I also got Ken Griffey JR. Baseball and Banjo Kazooie. I would have to agree with SquidMan93, I also prefered the Super Nintendo.

I have three of the games I saw on there! Super Mario 64, Wave Race and Turok!

Ah yes, the Nintendo 64. Never liked this console; I MUCH prefered the Super NES. Also, that clip you see at the very end with the cartoon wrestling match announcer is a clip from the episode "Mad Dog Hoek" from The Ren & Stimpy Show.
