Merlin was the bomb,I had mine for decades,it worked until like four years ago, those toys from the 70's were built to last,I guess.

I remember this! Six different ways?? How is that possible from this one compact machine?

This would make a great circuit bent instrument.

I love the left handed observation.
I was born left handed and forced to learn to use my right.
My theory is that the director of this commercial was forced to use his right hand as a kid. He plotted revenge and vowed one day he would force some right handers to use their left. He finally got his chance when asked to work on this commercial.
He held the family of cast members hostage off camera to force their left hand to push Merlin's buttons.

My Grandparents had one, when I was a kid I always played with it. That was one heck of a fun machine. I want to get my hands on one now.

I will say one thing about the Merlin - those suckers were built to last. I've had the same one since 1979, and have never had a single problem with it.

My nephews used to love playing mine, so I bought them one of their own a few months ago.

It looks like a cordless phone.
