A simpler time, when only the ratings bumpers scared me.The guy's voice is kinda creepy.I now have this as my Avatar.

This was a little before my time, however, the later versions of this bothered me as a young person, when I saw it... : O

My dad had First Choice Super Channel, now known as The Movie Network, pumped into his house when I was 12 and I remember staying up late on weekends and during summer and winter break to watch what I wanted watch. To say the least I was quite unimpressed by what I saw.
It was all just machisimo bullshit that you can find on anyother channel at anyother time. My mother had to take me out of the house because I had been truammatized by a slasher flick that my brother and my dad were watching. I started crying and screaming until my mother said she would take me outside.

Btw, every time I saw that disclaimer, I would just chuckle knowing how lame it was that HBO was using a rating system that was only intended for theaters, which, of course, had zero effect in preventing young kids from watching anyway.

Bitd, when I was in my early teens, my two aunts were among the first in our family to have HBO piped into their TV's. I fondly remember staying over her high rise apartment for one week, where I would stay up late to catch all the juicy, violent, foul-mouthed, indecent, and (mildly) offensive glory of HBO's late-night progs. One of the first progs I recall watching then was the now classic comedy special "Carlin On Campus". I'd only previously seen George Carlin on SNL, so this was the first time I ever got to watch his entire stand-up routine uncensored. I've never looked back in regret since.

R-Rated.. Only at night.. ALL RIGHT!

Jesus were they as stupid back then as they are now? Showing an R rating smack dab in the middle of the screen is going to make people want to watch it even more.

that just makes the film seem dirtier. that rocks!
