Hey, those white paper hats McDonalds workers wore back in those days really added an air of professionalism...kinda...well...maybe not

"I love those old McDonald's commercials...also the old Burger King ads. I was 9 years old when this commercial first aired. I also recall some classmates of mine singing a parody of this McDonald's commercial, which went:

McDonald's is your kind of place
    It's full of rattlesnakes
    Hamburgers up your nose
    French fries between your toes
Last time I went up there
    They fried my underwear
That's why I never go up there
McDonald's is your kind of place-your kind of place"

    That made my day!

My dad was singing this jingle the other day, but my mom didn't believe that it was from a Mcdonalds commercial. I immediately thought to myself, "hmm, RJ probably has it." Needless to say, I proved my mom wrong.

    MegtheEgg86 Posted 7 years 5 months ago
That line does sound like it says "sappy."
    atl4thward2k6 Posted 7 years 8 months ago
^ hahahaha...I bet atleast 7/10..they microwave your food now.
    surfychik32 Posted 7 years 9 months ago
you're lucky if they don't microwave your burger nowadays!
RubyDragon Posted 7 years 9 months ago
My dad still remembers this commercial today. It's a shame that these fast food places have become commercialized.
    Brayds2006 Posted 7 years 9 months ago
The quality of food at McDonald's today has decreased from it's beginings by the looks of this commercial. And after the "hap-hap-hap-happy place" bit, the next line sounds like "a clean and sappy place"!

    wow old
Ms. MapleLeaf Posted 7 years 10 months ago
Back in 67 though you could get a hamburger from Mc Donalds and it would actually fill you up - unlike what they are serving nowadays !
    WPIXlover11 Posted 7 years 10 months ago
I used to sing "McDonald's Is My Kind of Place, they serve you Rattlesnakes!" I won't sing the rest ,but that's what I heard my Friends(?) Sing! But I agree with Dalmationlover,as well....give us a '60's section...PLEEEASE?Michael Boyce

I second dalmationlover's motion to make a 60's section in retrojunk.

Neat commercial! Way before my time, but interesting nevertheless. But where's Ronald? Normally he shows up when there's kids in a McDonald's commercial.
KRW Posted 8 years 18 days ago
This reminds me of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.
ChowTimer Posted 8 years 1 month ago
    Agreed dalmationlover 100%.

What's up with that picture of the fry cook at the end of the comercial? It looks like they posterized it and decided to randomly stick it in random spots of the commercial (especially at the ending).
Ms. MapleLeaf Posted 8 years 1 month ago
Yes a 60s section would be really cool !
This commercial is unusual - one of the few that didn't feature Ronald Mac Donald (think he started in the late 50s - might be wrong on this though).

I vote we get a 1960's section started on Retrojunk!
