This has to be around mid-late 70s if I would have to guess. Those VCRs came out around 1976 or so.

I remember Betamax. From what I remember it was superior to VHS, but VCR's dominated the market. I would like to get my hands on one.

Hi there, does anyone remember Betamax? Betamax actually came out in 1975, and in 2006 I have a Betamax and VHS. I'll admit Beta is really old, but it is fun to use, and yes, get more old commercials like this one!

Guh! *Drops Drink* That's got to be the oldest VCR commercial I've ever seen! I used to think VCR's dated back only as far as the early '80s. I was wrong!

Wow! Those VCR's are so rare back in those days. They used to have 4 hours of movies, sports, TV shows and cartoons on one tape. That was a long time ago. That was long before the VCR had added 2 more hours of everything and make it 6 hours. The Panasonic VCR was really old, but it had an eject button when you put the tape into the slot close it firmly. That was before when you put a tape into slot and automatically closed it by itself instead of pushing down. I still have the Emerson VCR, but it's three years old, but I still use it for recording. Thanks to DVD players and recorders, but I used DVD-R for recording movies on DVD. Those were the good old days.
