smurfs 2600 (1980)

it looks pretty good. how could you go wrong with the smurfs?

This commercial version has a skull that you jump up onto the table to get to smurfette, the version we had had a bench.

This game did suck. The collision detection was so bad. That if one pixel of your smurf touched anything - you died.

I could never make it over the fist fence.

To avoid the hawk present on the harder skill levels, to make Smurf duck down, press your joystick downward when you see the hawk coming your way.

I wish I could play this game again...and actually be better on it .

I read in an issue of Electronic Gaming Monthly about a year ago that this game was very bad. From the looks of things they probably weren't kidding (even for the time it was made it probably wasn't good).

It's because the original comics (along with the first season of the cartoon, and possibly later seasons as well) refer to her as 'the smurfette'. This game was supposedly released in 1982, and that would have been what the advertisers and programmers had to go on. They didn't shorten it to Smurfette as a name until later.
