It is from the 1985 theatrical re-release of E.T. Pizza Hut had the rights to E.T. when the movie came out in 1982, McDonalds had the rights to the re-release in 1985.

Remember, back in the 80's movies were re-released a few times to theaters. Most didn't get released to home video for a few years after a few theatrical runs. E.T. wasn't released on home video until 1988, six years after it was released to theaters for the first time.
This commercial was from 1981 because before Retro Junk changed their look, they said next to each commercial what year it was released. I'm just saying.
