    "Please: Help prevent forest fires."
I really don't know that song by Vera Lynn.

I think people would care more if they showed hundreds of houses going up in flames, because humans these days seem to only care about themselves. Back in the day, for those of us who were alive when this PSA was playing, people actually cared about stuff like this.

This is very touching, I think.

Do you really think this PSA is about natural forest fires? Hello! They had to do this kind of PSA, otherwise every idiot on earth would throw their cigarettes on the ground or not put out their campfires. Sure, natural forest fires are good for a forest, but do you really think there would be any forests left if every fire started by a cigarette was left burning?

I find this ironic, in that if forest fires were completely prevented, that entire patch of woods shown could very die and lie dormant within 50 years. Forest fires are so necessary for optimal forest growth; watching these old "Only You" PSAs drives me insane!
