Hell, I just want a ROB to play with it. Nevermind see how bad he is at stacking blocks

Rob was a Trojan horse to get the Nintendo on the store shelves after the video game crash... marketed as a toy.. after the nes was popular the got rid of him...

This Rob robot was so gimmicky. Still, I always wanted one just because...heck, it was your own robot!

Nintendo games make references to ROB such as Mario Kart DS(as a unlockable character) & Wario Ware Smooth Moves(as the boss in the Starfox minigame).

Rob is also the same name of the robot in starfox 64 and is al vary identical to the human robot in chibi-robo, ahh nvermind.

There were initially 2 systems: The Control Deck set, which was the deck, 2 controllers and Super Mario and the Deluxe Set, which also contained the light gun, ROB and Duck Hunt/Gyromite but no Super Mario. They were priced at $199.99 and $249.99 respectively. The ROB was discontinued shortly thereafter due to its poor functionality and the fact that it only worked with 2 games, and later on they came up with the Action Set to replace it.

ROB stands for "Robotic Operating Buddy".

i got the pack with smb 1 and duckhunt that came out a few years later

I wonder why the R.O.B. could not have been any more popular than it once was for just those two games, "Gyromite" and "Stack Up (aka "Robot Stack";)." Ditto for the later Power Pad accessory, too.

This is from 1985, NES didn't come to the US until then.
