WPIX remained a WB affiliate until September 17, 2006, when the network signed off the air for the last time and the new CW network signed on, with which the station is still affiliated for the next eight years.

I remember this as if it was last Saturday! omg ever Saturday my family would go do our weekend shopping and as soon as we came home I would run to my room to see what movie is showing that weekend. God I miss those days.

Yes those were the days before the network went straight to hell and a hand bag.
I still remember those days very well.

I missed the WPIX Saturday Afternoon Movie. The movie was replaced by non-network shows like "Soul Train", "The Twilight Zone" and "Smallville", a show that it was originally aired on the WB. The opening had the World Trade Center with the Station Island Ferry. Nice to see the old WTC in the intro. The station is still a WB affiliate since 1995 where the WB first came on the air. The Saturday Afternoon Movie was consist of movie packages with favorite films as well as some Disney movies since it was originally aired on one of the three networks ABC, NBC and CBS from many years ago before it moved to syndication as part of the Buena Vista TV package.

    • Myra Fleener: You know, a basketball hero around here is treated like a god, er, uh, how can he ever find out what he can really do? I don't want this to be the high point of his life. I've seen them, the real sad ones. They sit around the rest of their lives talking
