The music at the beginning of the WNYW-TV Channel 5 New York sounded like the 5:00 AM theme on Animal Crossing Wild World for the Nintendo DS.

Quote: What happens after the sign-off?

The sign-off screen is probably followed by static or a test pattern, unlike most channels today that air endless ads of Girls Gone Wild.

This station was originally a sign-off for WNYW-TV (Channel 5). It starts with "A Public Affairs Presentation" the call letters was originally WNEW-TV and it was owned at the time by Metromedia before the company was bought by Fox TV Stations in 1986 where the station dropped the third letter from "E" to "Y" as part of the station calls. Check out Jaw-Man's TV Sign-Off Page. It features a collection of TV sign-offs from West Virginia, North Carolina and others. It's located at

By the way, the sign-off ends with the National Anthem. That was cut off as the stations "Good Night" slide.
