I loved the Game Genie, it gave a lot of crap games a lot of life. It also gave those hard games a reason to play. I used it on Festers Quest to pass it, I can't remember which code but I remember playing it off and on since we had our NES and never beat it. It was still really painful even with the Game Genie, but I got to see the end. Super Mario Bros. was also fun with it, that game had like 30 codes from moon walking to floating jump.

For some games its absolutely u need a luttle help to see the end of it because the game is so hard lets take ghostbusters for the NES for example the staircase level in the zuul building is filled with ghosts and one touch and ur a goner 3 touches and its bye bye game and u start over to the beginning. The AVGN couldn't even beat it without the game genie he tried every trick he could make and still couldn't do it he had to use his game genie and use the invincibility code to beat the staircase level and eventually see the ending of the game.

it certainly prompted me to go back and replay some of those games that i beat and was like "never again". it actually made some of them a lot more fun. pretty lame how it only stored 3 codes and the good ones used at least 2.

Game Genie was for losers! And cheating in general! >:(

It should only be used for having extra fun and not beating the game. besides doing it on your own is a lot more fun :P

Using Game Genie for any video game console, in my point of view, was cool because you had cheat codes to get you through the game, but at the same time, it felt like being on steroids.

I always tried to make codes for Super Mario Bros. Me and my cousin had made over 200 sweet, and strange codes for the game. My favorites were IOEIOE-Mostly invincible Mario, as well as SATUYN-Time is frozen at 403, great for bonuses and the flagpole.

A great device that sporned a complete side industry in gaming, that made made games like final fantasy VII and metal gear solid accessable to even the densest gamers

I had a Game Genie for my SNES! It helped me beat some of the most difficult games that I couldn't beat on my own at the time, such as "Mega Man X", which I have no problem beating on my own now. I liked such cheats as the ability to jump higher or live forever, and you could even turn it off and then back on again while you were playing the game! Some of the cheats were just plain weird, but fun to try out! Before there was Gameshark, Game Genie was the BEST!!

I have Game Genie for my NES. That was long before GameShark came along. Game Genie was the system that puts in codes to make the game easy to win, easy to defeat and of course to make the game to finish them off to see the game endings. Without Game Genie, it was played the hard way.

Disturbing! I had one of these for the Sega Genesis! Excellent stuff! It's even more fun when making your own codes and end up scrambling the graphics! Oh yah!
