Changes for Nickelodeon

Here are 5 shows that Nickelodeon should bring back and get rid of.

I may have been born in 1994, but I stiil know that Nickelodeon isn't what it used to be, anyway, I decided to do a list of 5 old shows that Nick should bring back, and 5 new shows that Nick should take off, although half of this article isn't really that retro, the other half is, and once again, no pictures, but I still haven't figured it out, but anyway, on with the list.

5 old school Nick shows that Nick needs to bring back.

1. Rocko's Modern Life

Most of you should agree that this show should be brought back. I mean, what's not to love about a wallaby having adventures around O-Town, with funny humor all around. Also, kids these days would find out on how Spongebob and Camp Lazlo really got started, all with this great show. Nick should really bring this back.

2. Hey Arnold

One of my all time favorite Nicktoons and a very good one too. Sure, maybe it was a little boring , maybe not even that funny, but it was still a great show, and it leaves me with a good feeling after watching it. It also had great characters, voices, and plots. Nick should really bring this back.

3. The Angry Beavers

In my opinion, this was the funniest Nicktoon since Rocko's Modern Life, and that's not a bad thing.
The voices were great, the characters were awsome, everything was good, there was nothing bad about it. 1997 was a great year, wasn't it? Nick should really bring this back.

4. Kablam

This is one of the most unique shows I've ever seen in my life, and very fun to watch. Sure, it might be outdated, like most of the shows in this show can be done in CG, but it's still a good show all around. I loved the Henry and June scenes best, but I liked all of the sketches. Nick should really bring this back.

5. Kenan and Kel

This predesessor for Drake and Josh(another show that I love) was a cool show, most of you agree with me that this was pretty funny, and on how it always starts and ends with them in front of a red curtain. I loved Kel's line "Oh here it goes." Nick should really bring this back.

Well you heard on what I think should be brought back, now let's see the ones that I think should get canceled. NOTE: I know this isn't retro, but you'll probably agree with me anyway.

5 new Nick shows that Nick needs to take off(no descriptions because they're not retro.)

1. Mr. Meaty (worst of them all)
2. Naked Brothers Band
3. Zoey 101
4. Unfabulas (I don't care how you spell it, it sucks anyway.)
5. The X's

P.S.: Another reason why I didn't put down descriptions for the ones that I thought should get canceled is because I couldn't think of any except for Mr. Meaty and Naked Brothers Band.

If you ask me... I don't think Nickelodeon "sucks" now. It's just made for a new generation of kids who are probably into different stuff than we are. I was born in the same year as Spongeroks, so I grew up with most of the shows from the 90s and early 00s, and those shows are all good to me. I preferred the Nicktoons and the syndicated cartoons to the live action shows (there were about six live action shows I really enjoyed), and around the time Yakkity Yak came out is when Nickelodeon started to suck for me. The only exception is Avatar. I'd really like to see some 80s Nick stuff myself.

I agree with this kid. Just think, I was born in 1985 and he was born 9 years later and we both have something in common: classic Nick shows. The shows that come on Nick now I cannot understand at all. They are ordinary, boring, uncreative, stupid, irritating, and anything you can describe to tell that they really suck. Nickelodeon is not the only channel that sucks, but Cartoon Network and a few other channels also do. The kids in this generation cannot and do not enjoy watching television as much as we former kids now teenagers and adults did. It seems like people in charge of Nickelodeon and businesses are careless about their customers or anything else except MONEY that rings in their head.

I watched Kablam when I was 5th grade.

Luckily, three shows that you hated (Unfabulous, Mr. Meaty, and The X's) have been removed from Nickelodeon, but, all in all, I agree with you. I can't believe that Nick is making a Zoey 101 movie after she got pregnant. She probably had an abortion just so she could do the movie. I really hate it when Nick and Disney hide all the good stuff from you. They just want to fool you into thinking that all of the stars are perfect. That's bull!! There's been a lot of controversy about Miley doing a nude picture and then Zoey getting pregnant. They really need to tell kids what's happening with their favorite stars so parents can see that they're not good role models.

What about Ren & Stimpy? They should bring that back, too.

I love Nick,when I was a kid and now.But I do love it a whole lot less than I used to here's my list.(I was born in 1993)
Bring Back:
1)Kablam.My all time favorite.
2)All That.The Good Burger sketches were my favorite,and it kinda declined once it reached the 2000s.
3)Kenan and Kel.Ahh.I remember when I crushed on Kel for the longest time.

10) Kid's Court (remember the tagline? "Got a Beef? Stand up!" I used to die of laughter, seeing as it sounds like, "Need to Fart? Stand up!"

As well as the original Nick @ Nite shows like Welcome Back, Kotter and Bewitched. I cringe every time I see Home Improvement on now.

The Naked Brothers Band and Zoey 101 rock! Zoey 101 is on every day.

They brought back Rocko, Hey Arnold, Doug & all the old Nicktoons on Thanksgiving day only, but they need to put all those show back on the air permanently & air Spongebob less than they do now.

How can you miss what Nickelodeon "used to be" if you were born in 1994? Nickelodeon hasn't changed at all. As long as they got Avatar the Last Airbender, they are good in my book.

I agree they should bring back those shows but they shoul not make new episodes because that could ruin the shows. Also the 5 show's you hate are rarely of if ever shown.

Actually most of these shows come on the nicktoons network, well they did. Um and may I stress how much I hate that Mr. Meaty show or whatever the hell it is. For some reason it grosses me out. Maybe cause the puppets look like crap.

Okay, I'm not trying to be mean but you mention "kids these days" You are what, all of 13? The only one I somewhat agree with is Rocko's modern life. They really need to bring back Doug, Rugrats (the old one's not the new shit)Alex Mack, Salute Your Shorts, and many others that I don't have time to list. They need to get rid of ALL the new crap, in my opinion. Any yeah I agree with ladolce bring back good ol nick at nite.

I have to disagree with these. I think some of the ones that should be brought back, should be Count Duckula, Danger Mouse, Noozles, David the Gnome, Mr Wizard, Belle and Sebastian and Eureka's Castle. Maybe even The Mysterious Cities Of Gold. I really miss the old classics, and wished they were brought back.

I didn't really like Rocko, because its more of a wannabe Ren and Stimpy.

Rocko's Modern Life, Are You Afraid of the Dark, What Would You Do, Clarissa Explains It All, and the original All That. Not new episodes - just give me back the reruns.
Oooh! And Nick At Nite. Not Nick@Nite, just Nick At Nite. Showing the *old* shows, like I Love Lucy and Mr. Ed.

What about You Can't Do That On Television? That was the best show Nickelodeon had. Can't forget about Double Dare.

I personally think all of those shows sucked-the first list and the second. I want to see stuff like the Getalong Gang, Shirttales, Rainbow Brite, the Snorks and Smurfs-that stuff was so much more wholesome. I know these weren't on Nickelodeon but the point is the same.)This stuff is just mindless, negative garbage. Keenan and Kel was okay just kind of annoying. I want to see You can't do that on Television. Mr. Wizard's world. Stuff like that.We would all like to see Pinwheel brought back too. Oh, and I am 30 and would still watch it!!

Personally I think it would be best if these shows would just stay cancelled, because us retro junkies prefer old over new. If they WERE to make a come back, we probably wouldn't like them as much as we liked the older version.

his dog ate it? Kind of sick to me. Then the thing that always happened when he screamed, his eyes popping out of his sockets like that...disturbing. I love Hey Arnold, and all the others though. Though I would suggest bring back 'Are you afraid of the dark'

Yo, nick has become one of the whackest stations on tv. It used to be the ish. The old All That was a great show but with the new cast and all it just got worse and worse, i think nick should show some re-runs of the earlier sesons of All That. and i agree with this article 99.9%

Just to be clear, when I say already gone, I mean it doesn't have new episodes or isn't on Nickelodeon anymore but could be on one of Nick's sister channels.

No one finds Mr. Meaty funny? Oh well.

). I know they have a channel called Nick Toons and I've been watching Hey Arnold and Rocko's Modern Life, they've been showing them. Not sure what they're giving now though.
Although I agree with you, I'd have to slightly oppose your wishes. I feel that Nickelodeon is givng new shows for a newer generation. Our generation was all those shows and many more. We're grown up now. Today's kids will be in our shoes years later saying "why can't they bring back Zoey 101??".
I do think they should have a separate channel showing classic NICK shows.

Locutuscw: Stephen Hillenburg had nothing to with Ren & Stimpy, he worked on Rocko. Spongebob didn't get its start from any show. He came up with SB in the 80's, before RML. And SB is nothing like RML.

Liek, REn and Stempy, All That, Weinerville, Tiny Tonns adventures, Are yuo Afraid of the dork,Rocket power,Salute You Shorts,Animorphs,Doug, Catdog,My Brother and Me, The Secret World of Alex Mack,Clarissa Explains it all, THe Adventures of Pete and Pete,And BeetleJuice!!!!! All the old shows should come back. Or at least have a week of Nothing but the OLD shows!!!

KENAN AND KEL!!! LOVED IT!! I was born in 1988 and I agree with all the shows you listed to bring back (the ones you want off I haven't even heard of.). I just wish there was a 'Classic Nick' channel with all those great 90's shows...

I agree with you. Most of the new nickelodeon shows are horrible and most of them aren't even appropriate for little kids anymore, but rather for teenagers.

I would like to see Nick bring back the early "All That" I tried to explain the show to my 13 an 9 year nieces while watching Figure it Out on GAS b/c some of the stars where on the panel

Nickelodeon brought back those shows to late night tv on Nickelodeon Classics. and i totally agree with you that they need to get rid of all those new shows. first off alll most of thpse shows u mentioned can be seen on nicktoons network
and second how can u say those shows are horrible and give no reason. im oldschool to and miss alot of my old nick shows alot older than yours like you cant do that on television, danger mouse, salute your shorts, doug, hey dude and weinerville jsut to name a few. but times change espaicaly with cartoon and notsa nick and cartoon networks fault its the public and goverment who are afraid of inocent harmless and funny cartoon violence. we can nevr have shows like tom and jerry or loney toons used to be and now they even edit some of the old show which is jsut wrong.
as for the live show i agree with zoey and mr meaty. but the other shows thouggh aint my favorite are good. i lvoe alot of the nick and disney shows becuase network television focuses to much on reality show so theres no more good situation sitcoms which is why i turn to nick and dis.
and one last thing how cam u sy arnold was a great show but also sya it was boring and not funny. i thougt it was great. it reminded me of when i was that age hangning with the kids in my town

I really loved Rocko's Modern Life because I rmember when I was younger, how everything was alive, like they're were so many random objects, but they could live, like Rokco's kidney or something like that!

KABLAM! was just awsome! I think it actually could of made a really cool cartoon if it didnt have shorts... Just June and Henry going on adventures in the comic book / t.v world! That's all I liked about it was June and Henry's part! Kenan and Kel was so funny! Now Kenan's on SNL!!

I haven't seen or heard mention of the X's so I guess it was pulled from their lineup... It felt like a rip off of the Incredibles for some reason.

i only agree with bringing back rockos modern life. the rest i could do without. you say that the new shows that they should get rid of are not retro. most the shows you want them to bring back are not retro nick shows. work harder.

The creator for Camp Lazlo was behind the same one for Rocko. I know because I remember the name in the credits, Joe Murray. About the same at the creator behind Duckman is for Squirrel Boy (both have the same character model design).

Rocko's Modern Life was my favorite Nicktoon, but that seems to be the forgotten one, which is sad. I never found Ren and Stimpy to be all that great.

Hmm, I've seen episodes of both "Rocko's Modern Life" and "Hey Arnold" on the swedish version/section of Nickeolodeon. I guess that it's schedule differs somewhat from the original, american channel.

Regarding the article, it would have been nice to read something more about the shows that should be taken off the air. Yes, I know that you couldn't think of anything and sometimes it is hard to write about a show you dislike but it would have been interesting to read a more detailed descriptions of why these shows suck so much (I wouldn't know myself, I don't watch them, in fact as soon as I hear the theme-song to "Unfabolous" I quickly change the channel or turn of the TV).

So-so article..I agree that the stuff should be canceled (and both Nick and Cartoon Network suck nowadays), but the article could have been better with pictures. Nice, shiny pictures.
