The many faces of Stallone

How many action figures does Sly have?

Here's a quick chronicle of the many toys Stallone has had over the years. As far as I can tell, these are all of his major toy releases (not including new releases and re-releases)

Rocky

Rocky (?) There are tons and tons of Rocky toys. I only included this one from the original run. There are loads more from recent toy lines.

Rambo

Of course they made toys about Rambo. They even sold JUST weapons in a package.

Over the Top

This is really the only one I didn't know about. What amazes me is the sheer number of action figures they released from a movie about arm wrestling. Like seriously...look

Demolition Man

If you've read my lists from before, you'll know all about this shit fest. Although this one actually looks like him, probably by accident though.

Antz

So this one isn't technically Stallone but it was voiced by him and kind of looks like him

Judge Dredd

Surprisingly the toy line from his Judge Dredd movie was relatively small from what I can find. I would have thought they would have made tons of this shit. But here you go.

Modern Era...

And we get to the modern toys and characters. Like I said, there are tons of re-released figures from his old movies. But I try not to count those when making my lists.Obviously they've come a long way to making Stallone look like Stallone.

Overall, Stallone doesn't have THAT many toys. This is probably because a lot of his releases were pg-13 and above. However this didn't stop a lot of other toy companies.

Action figure to movie percentage: 11%

Hope you enjoyed this. Probably more of these little quick lists to come. Give me some suggestions or make your own. Let me know if I missed anything.

I'm guessing from the last photo that a figure line was released for the Expendables? Anyone know anything about this?

Thumbs up for concept. They totally should have done a Stop Or My Mom Will Shoot 2-pack featuring Stallone and Estelle Getty action figures with quick draw action.

Thanks! Like I said, this is one of those articles I wrote and wasn't that satisfied with. Obviously it didn't take much time, but my next few articles are (IMO) pretty good.

    short and pointless

Valid point, I would have asked them to not publish this, as I have more in the que that are much better. But alas. Thanks for your short and pointless feedback retrodave!

Over The Top toys? Those may be worth owning just for the "WTF?" factor.

The old Rambo line was awesome. A few years later a 3 3/4" Rambo was released, but it was nowhere near as cool as those 80's figures.

They look quite extensive too. Someone must have overestimated the demand for arm wrestling toys...

I had no idea that a Rocky action figure existed in the Eighties. There was a brief period from 1986-'87 when movie toys ruled the shelves. You had the Karate Kid 2 stuff, Rock Lords, the Real Ghostbusters, Rambo, the Over the Top figures, Howard the Duck candy dispensers, Cobra-La, Gwildor, Audrey 2 candy dispensers, a few Power of the Force figures, some leftover Commando toys, and Rodimus Prime. Stallone action figures have certainly come a long way since those days.
