10 Worst South Park Episodes

By popular demand, here's the top 10 episodes I personally hate.

About 2 weeks ago, I made a top 10 best South Park episodes list. Some members requested for me to do a top 10 worst list, so here it is. Warning: you may disagree with some of my choices.

10. Smug Alert! (Season 10)

Kyle's dad Gerald buys a Hybrid, and it turns him into a smug jerk, to the point of moving his family to San Francisco. Wanting his best friend back at any cost, Stan promotes the Hybrid, but a horrible storm of smug is created.

I hate how they made Gerald into a jerk. I hate the idea. And this episode is hardly funny.

9. The Death Camp of Tolerance (Season 6)

This episode is basically a variation on "The Boy Who Cried Wolf", but with references to Schindler's List, an Oscar-winning movie directed by Steven Spielberg, a great director.

Our heroes say that Mr. Garrison and Mr. Slave are gay (because they're trying to get fired by committing weird sodomy acts in front of them), but their jerk-ass parents accuse them of being homophobic and take them to a tolerance museum. They try to tell them again, but it gets worse as they're sent to tolerance camp, where they nearly die.

This episode is too mean-spirited, even for the standards of the show.

8. Toilet Paper (Season 7)

After their art teacher punishes them for making a clay penis, Cartman suggests that he and the boys should TP their house. Kyle is personally against it, but after the ordeal was over, he becomes riddled with guilt. Cartman will go to any length to keep Kyle quiet.

This episode is a waste. Why couldn't the boys make a naked lady instead? I'm asking because it's less crude than what they actually made. And the ending sucks, too.

7. Mr. Garrison's Fancy New Vagina (eww... Season 9)

Mr. Garrison gets a sex-change operation from Dr. Biber, sparking the curiosity of the boys. Kyle, who didn't make the basketball team for being tiny and Jewish despite being the school's best player, wants to become tall and black, against the wishes of his parents. His dad Gerald confronts Dr. Biber, but is convinced by him to become a dolphin.

This episode scarred me. Besides, there ARE Jewish basketball players, but I digress.

6. A Million Little Fibers (Season 10)

Towelie writes a best-selling novel and appears on Oprah. This episode is very boring.

5. Butt Out (Season 7)

Fearing that they'll be losers because of a PSA rap, the boys smoke, and end up burning down the school. Their parents are mad, but the boys pin the blame on the tobacco company, and a war breaks out.

This episode is a bigger waste than "Toilet Paper". Why does this episode exist? We know smoking is bad, but this is stupid.

4. D-Yikes! (Season 11)

I don't want to describe this episode, but I hate this one, too. It focuses on Garrison, and the boys are unfairly yelled at just because their teacher has failing relationships.

3. Mystery of the Urinal Deuce (Season 10)

Someone pooped in a urinal, and Cartman accuses Kyle of being involved with 9/11.

This episode should've been banned. Besides, Kyle's my favorite character.

2. Stanley's Cup (Season 10)

In order to get his bike back, Stan is forced to help a pee-wee hockey team practice for a tournament and hope to win for an ailing team member at the hospital.

The ending cheats us out of an ending we want, thus making this an episode that a lot of fans hate.

1. More Crap (Season 11)

Stan's dad Randy wants to break a record by making the world's largest dump. This episode is boring and gross.

Okay, I would've put "You're Getting Old" and "Ass Burgers" up there at #1, but I haven't really watched those episodes due to awful premises. Also, they didn't happen. At all. Don't say otherwise.

Good night, and have a pleasant tomorrow.

This is completely wrong. I don't think you understand a lot of these episodes.
    Coreylin81 Posted 1 year 3 days ago
I thought the worst episode ever was when Mr. Garrison puts a gerbil into Mr. Slaves butt, and the whole episode is about the gerbil's journey through Mr. Slaves body. Just purely disgusting.

I agree that some of these were pretty bad, but being transgender myself, "Mr. Garrison's Fancy New Vagina" really pisses me off. The message is that feeling like one gender when you were born the other is like feeling like a tall black kid in a short Jewish kid's body, or a dolphin in a human's body, and surgery will only make you look like what you want to be on the outside, but you will still function as what you were born as. Surgery won't give me semen and natural erections, but I still want it because it will correct my body some, but not completely. Mr. Garrison is one of my favorite characters, as he is hilarious as a man, but irritating as a woman. If this episode scarring me wasn't enough, I hated to see him make such a negative transition. Also, a big mistake is that in real life, Garrison would not even be allowed to have the surgery because you need to be living as your affirmed gender for over a year. Was he identifying as "Mrs. Garrison" prior to Season Nine? I don't think so.
"Stanley's Cup" was my second least favorite after that, which should be dubbed the saddest South Park episode ever, because the ending is absolutely horrible, even though Trey Parker and Matt Stone call it "sweet", and say that people don't get it. But still, what's so "sweet" about a little boy dying of leukemia in the hospital because some kindergarteners got their asses kicked by grown men in Ice Hockey?
However, I disagree with "Mystery of the Urinal Deuce" being bad because it is extremely hilarious, such as Mr. Mackey being hung up on who defecated in the urinal, the Hardly Boys' "raging clues" and homosexual lisps, Cartman's outcome on the conspiracy behind 9/11, Stan and Kyle's experience with the government, and the ending in general.
"Death Camp of Tolerance" I am neutral about (but I agree it is sort of mean-spirited), along with "Toilet Paper", "Smug Alert!", "More Crap", but the rest aren't too great.

    NOT RETRO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
MrCtheAmazing Posted 1 year 1 month ago
Have to totally disagree on a few of these. "Smug Alert," "Death Camp of Tolerance" and "Butt Out" were hilarious social commentaries. As much as I like South Park, I've never found much replay value in it, but those are a few I've watched a number of times.
Sikkinixx Posted 1 year 1 month ago
Ohhhhh Minge!! Are we in Paris yet, Minge?!! That was fantastic! You guys apparently don't have the same light hearted sense of humor that I have.
Sikkinixx Posted 1 year 1 month ago
Sorry but I completely disagree. South Park has always been a show that isn't afraid to push the envelope. If what you see bothers you then you are obviously missing the joke because South Park was never meant to be taken that seriously. I personally liked every single episode that you posted in this article.

    The hockey episode is hilarious!
    MoranisFan1991 Posted 1 year 2 months ago
I actually liked "Cartmanland", but the seriousness of Kyle dying and conquering his illness is lessened when I found out that hemorrhoids DON'T kill people.

The Comedy Central censors hated Jared Has Aides as well, until recently when that episode had reruns again. Not only did Butters' unfair punishment disgust me, but I just hate episodes where the boys want money. Why do they want money? A, they are not adults, and B, that's the job of the Eds, and in the case of the Eds, it was funnier.

There's a fair amount of SP episodes I didn't like, myself:

-"Goobacks", because of Randy haplessly punishing Stan without knowing what would happen beforehand

-"Jared Has Aides", because of Butters being framed in the end

-"Miss Teacher Bangs A Boy", because nobody believes Kyle when he tells them about Ike's affair with Miss Stephenson ("Niiiiice...";) AND when somebody interrupts Cartman's "Dawg" persona

-"Tsst", because nobody wants to help Cartman out of his predicament with the Dog Whisperer (Cesar Millan)

-"Cartmanland", because of all the behind-the-scenes schadenfreude, i.e. the more Cartman gets upset, the better Kyle gets in the hospital

-"Go God Go", because Cartman never gets his Wii in the end

Is it any wonder why I'm the only one who's always rooting for Cartman?
ANMAN Posted 1 year 2 months ago
Oh yeah "More Crap" has the same plotline as King of Kong...a fantastic independent movie about a regular guy beating the all time Donkey Kong highscore.
ANMAN Posted 1 year 2 months ago
Totally agree on D-Yikes!, Mr. Garrison's Fancy New Vagina...they suck. A Million Little Fibers should have been #1.

Mean spirited? LOL Smug Alert and Death Camp of Tolerance are among the best episodes.
You missed the joke on Stanly's Cup...imagine if your ultra cliche 90's movie plotline ran headlong into another team's 90's cliche movie plotline? The other team gets their deserved title shot, the other coach and his son re-unite and so on.

More Crap and Butt Out are on par with some good laughs.

    wow, harsh...

I think it's funny that the episode synopsis becomes less and less detailed after each review.

I vote this article for top ten worst retro junk articles of all time.

This article was boring and gross
    PixarFan88 Posted 1 year 2 months ago
I hated every minute of "A Million Little Fibers" with a passion (Okay, maybe that's exaggerating a bit). Giving Towelie his own episode was one of the worst ideas since giving Mr Garrison a sex change and killing off Kenny "for good". "More Crap" was also pretty painful to watch.

Good article I will agree that there are several episodes of the show that you left off this list that are actually worse than these! The truth about South Park is that it still to this day is the big cash cow for Comedy Central. Sure some may point out The Daily Show and The Colbert Report, but those two only exist for their liberal agendas and political satire. South Park has had its ups and downs over the last 15 years or so, and several episodes are hit or miss. If you have seen the documentary as to how each episode is produced, it's really quite remarkable since they basically make each show in a week, having to come up with an idea on the spot and then go with it. The Simpsons and Family Guy episodes usually takes months to make.
Dawg Posted 1 year 2 months ago
I'm surprised of all the episodes, "Pip" was not mentioned... nor was the horrid "Terrance & Phillip" episode that aired as a season-2 opener to find out who was Cartman's father. Those were horrible in & of itself (especially 'Pip';). To each their own, however, as there's more than 200 to choose from. I hate the pics you chose from, however. The close-ups are really obnoxious and want me to hate those episodes when I actually really did like the episodes in & of themselves.
Benjanime Posted 1 year 2 months ago
it doesn't matter. articles aren't supposed to have "quality" on here. i've been here since fall of '07 and i know how articles are done on this site. there's nothing wrong with how you developed your article. you give your thoughts on a subject that you write about, and that's it. if you want to talk about something and get right down to it, there should be nothing wrong with writing it that way, just as long as sentences and pictures aren't too cluttered together and it's in decent length. this article had no problem with that, and i'm glad that you're getting used to the style
MrMatt Posted 1 year 2 months ago
"Fat-Butt and Pancake-Head" was down-right grating. It annoyed the !@#$%& out of me.
"Dead Celebrities" was the last straw. If anyone saw how it ended should get some eye-bleach and brain-bleach. If you did not see this episode, DON'T!
With those two episodes (specifically the latter), I stopped watching South Park and avoided it. So far, I have avoided it for two and a half years. Besides, it gets too much airtime.
    Take it from me.
    MoranisFan1991 Posted 1 year 2 months ago
No, the both of you are right, Benjanime. But one thing's for sure: my next article is coming out soon since I just submitted it right after this one, and it'll be big. I hope that new one gets a lot of positive feedback; it'll most likely do anyway.
Benjanime Posted 1 year 2 months ago
geez YumeeMaxx, you don't have to be a buzzkill. it's her own opinion on the matter in her own words. you don't have to thumbs it down for how you expect it. she also did an effective job on paragraphing and picture placement, so big ups for that
    MoranisFan1991 Posted 1 year 2 months ago
YumeMaxx, I don't think I'll make any more related to South Park. I don't even watch the show for politics, just the characters and pop culture. And this article was a request, by the way. I didn't expect this to be front page material. In fact, I have half a mind to thumbs down myself, but I won't.
YumeMaxx Posted 1 year 2 months ago
I'm a big South Park fan, and while I agree with you for the most part that these were some of the least memorable/enjoyable episodes, I have to thumb down due to the terrible quality of the article.

I don't mind hearing your opinion. You seem to have a pretty strong stance on some of the show's content, but you just come across as childish when most of your backing explanations are one sentence long and consist mostly of you claiming the episode was boring.

You completely fail to comment on the effectiveness of the social political commentary involved in a lot of these episodes and it leads me to believe that the reason you disliked most of them was simply because the joke went over your head.

Please, feel free to write more South Park-related articles, but if you want someone to take your opinions more seriously, you have to actually come up with some decent reasoning. A further analysis of each episode, specific high/low points and which attempted messages were hit or miss would definitely be a good place to start.

As a MASSIVE hockey fan I was looking forward to seeing how Stanley's Cup would play out. It ended up breaking my heart when that poor kid died of leukemia (spoilers). That was a low point, even fore the series' standards.
The Ronin Identity Posted 1 year 2 months ago
I have to say i like a lot of these ep's, especially the Smug episode and Butt out. Thumbs up nontheless!
    asnaes1981 Posted 1 year 2 months ago
Except for the urinal poop and the death camp episodes, I agree with this. I hated Mr. Garrison getting a sex change the most. So gross.
AzumaReiji Posted 1 year 2 months ago
No Wing or that stupid atheist 2-parter? To each their own I guess.
chokeslam Posted 1 year 2 months ago
I can't say i hate all these episodes but none of them rank among my favorites. I totally agree with you about "Mr. Garison's Fancy New Vagina" and "Stanley's Cup." The whole bit of giving Garison a sex change was just a bad idea. I understand that the were mocking the cliched pee-wee sports movie with Stanley's Cup but due to the subject matter it just wasn't enjoyable to watch. My absolute least favorite episode is the one about Oprah's talking vagina and a-hole (Menge and Gary).
    MoranisFan1991 Posted 1 year 2 months ago
Oh, and MrCleveland, this isn't part of the 3 articles that I mentioned in the EEnE article. I just couldn't ignore the constant requests.
ActionBastard Posted 1 year 2 months ago
I liked some of these eps, like the one with kyle and the basketball team or the one with towelies book. Thumbs anyways.
    gufdasfa9 Posted 1 year 1 month ago
Benjanime Posted 1 year 1 month ago
    goddamn bots...
MrCleveland Posted 1 year 2 months ago
The one I hated the most was "Pee". Cartman was more bigoted than usual and Kyle seemed to have OCD, and it was nothing but a big bathroom joke and I wasn't laughing!
