Three of my Favorite Movies

They just so happen to all be retro and Disney too!

When deciding favorite movies, most people have a lot to choose from. Picking just one can be a challenge. So, I won't pick just one here! These are three of my favorite movies that I've always loved and can't decide which is my all time favorite. They just so happen to all be Disney, just not traditional Disney. I put them in order by year.

Who Framed Roger Rabbit (1988)

This movie is just so many things at the same time! It's a retro cartoon, a comedy, a murder mysterey, and probably many other things. Every character in this movie is interesting and/or likeable. This includes the classic cartoon characters, Eddie and some of the other humans, the cartoon characters who were made for the movie, and of course Roger and Jessica. Besides just the characters, that was also one of the last times Mel Blanc (Bugs Bunny, Tweety Bird, and various other Looney Toons characters) and Mae Questel (Betty Boop and Olive Oyl who didn't make an appearance due to copyright problems) got to perform before their deaths. It's a perfect movie for an animation buff, a cartoon lover, or just someone looking for a good comedy. The groundbreaking animation and live action is also a big part of what makes this a classic. Also, Roger and Jessica are probably the funniest cartoon couple in cartoon history. The clip is Jessica's theme.

the Nightmare Before Christmas (1993)

This was Tim Burton's first ever stop-motion full-length film. The music that was composed by Danny Elfman (who was also Jack's singing voice), the impressive stop-motion, the original idea, the colorful but dark characters all make this a masterpiece. How many movies can you possibly watch where the villian is a jazz singing sack of bugs? What about a movie where the main character is a skeleton who truly means well? Name me another movie where the holidays are different towns? Besides that this is considered a Christmas movie, there are plenty of people who don't celebrate Christmas that like this movie. It dosen't have to be Christmas or Halloween to enjoy the amazing movie about Jack Skellington trying to take over Christmas when he gets tired of Halloween. If you want something truly creative and you haven't seen this movie by all means, watch it. All the music in this movie is great but I chose the opening for the clip below because I feel like it sets the mood perfectly for the movie.

Toy Story (1995)

Here's a movie that has sentimental value to me, it was the first movie I ever saw in a theater when I was three years old, but it still holds up really well. This was the first entirely 3D animated film ever made and it was done perfectly. Toy Story is purely based on friendship and loyalty. Simple as that, you've got a friend in me. It manages to have that theme without being preachy. Everyone knows the characters besides the successful sequels, Woody, Buzz, the Aliens, Mr. Potato Head, Slinky Dog, one of the best animated villians of all time, Sid, and SO MANY OTHERS. This is considered to be one of the best kid's movies of all time. It's also a friendly reminder of where 3D animation that tends to plague the modern world of movies originated. Woody and Buzz are classic characters who teach the world the importance of friendship. This is truly a timeless classic that should be watched by everyone regardless of age. Oh the nostalgia overload the theme song by Randy Newman brings!

Is this your first article? I kinda hate thinking these movies are associated with Disney...maybe I've been jaded by their recent movies. Pixar is such a giant on it's own. Toy Story is really a Pixar gem in my opinion.

I'd like to hear more about your experiences with the movies, not just summaries.

Okay but if you only write about three movies you write more about each movie in depth and not just do sumarries talk about the characters more, the acting/ voice acting in further detail to make it not so short.

Okay, the reason it's so short is because there were only three movies here. I should'ave picked more. Either way, I liked my article.
