Donald Duck Naked

We talk about blackface and suicide, now we should face the bare facts!

If you ever seen a Donald Duck Cartoon you probably have seen him...ahem...naked!

That's right! Donald Duck made his nude debut in a cartoon "On Ice", Mickey tries to save Donald Duck as he's on a kite flying away, but Mickey ruins Donald Duck's sweater and Donald flies into the pond where Goofy clobbers him thinking he was a fish, and what does he wear...? Just a stocking cap!

But this doesn't end here...in 1941 Donald Duck's shirt gets blown-off in the cartoon "Timber" (as well as being sooted).

It would be in 1942 where in three cartoons, Donald Duck is seen in full...full as in full frontal! These cartoons were "Mickey's Birthday Party" (Donald's tail is covered in a blanket), "Donald Gets Drafted" (First time we see him all-out naked), and "Bellboy Donald" (which is my favorite cartoon).

It wouldn't be until "The Three Caballeros" where Donald Duck would get a 'Wardrobe Malfunction' and not just once...but twice! And some of these cartoons were Academy-Award Nominees such as "Tea for 200".

Other cartoons where Donald Duck goes wild are..."Slide Donald Slide" (In the end where he's locked in his very own shower), "Hook, Lion, and Sinker" (The lions derobe Donald), "Clock Watchers", and "How to have an Accident at Work".

But this isn't over...Donald Duck has been seen in nothing but his feathers on TV, movies (Another one is "Fantasia/2000" and not only the prophet Noah sees Donald as a natural Duck...so does Daisy), and comic books. Looks like even though Donald Duck has prooved that he's shown more than his temper. Even today he's STILL doing it!

PS-If I missed any cartoon where Donald Duck is wearing nothing but the Emperor's Clothes...please inform me.

News Flash: Donald Duck wears NO PANTS!!!!
MrCleveland Posted 2 years 5 months ago
^I think this is one of my best posts on RJ, the one I liked that I made was "The Seven Curses of Cleveland".

Now I didn't add the comics, but Al Taliaferro has made many comic strips where Donald Duck has been seen naked. It's out there, like hundreds of comic stories and comics where Donald is just wearing The Emperor's New Clothes!

This topic had gone on in detail at this forum as well, including pics from numerous comics featuring Donald over the years.

Just give me some time...I think it's funny to see Donald Duck au naturel like ducks are supposed to be. Besides, without Donald Duck baring it all, we wouldn't see Rocko completely...nakeed!

good topic! but i agree with Pearl. I like picture lists, but there arent enough pictures/episodes that occur within your topic. But keep on working! I cant wait to see whats next!

There isn't much substance to this article. It points out Donald's nude moments in history, but it doesn't really go that in depth. I know there are simple articles, and there are not so simple articles. This one however just feels to simple. I would have liked to see some more references sited rather than just listed, and perhaps a little more something that touched on the controversy of censorship in cartoons today as I felt that's where it was going.

i like your articles and think they have interesting topics! keep up the good work!

You know, they should ban cartoons with Donald Duck naked. That's just offensive to children.
HerotheBarbarian Posted 3 years 4 months ago
I pitty this hyper sensative world we live in today. These cartoons were and still are funny. Unlike the crap on cartoon network and Disney channel today. People need to stop looking for controversy and study the simple comic genius of the era.

Hmm, but, this isn't really as meaningful as more controversial cartoons. And it doesn't really matter if Donald is naked or not. He doesn't wear pants anyways.... Honestly, between the three, Goofy is the only one who is consistantly fully clothed.

I agree with taciturnwes above, you just got this off of Friends.
RetroJerk Posted 3 years 4 months ago
Ive always wondered how a duck could talk anyhow... i mean really?! Ive never understood that. Oh yeah.... its just a cartoon. How stupid of me.
taciturnwes Posted 3 years 4 months ago
This reminded me of an episode of Friends where Chandler was talking about how Donald never wore pants, yet when he gets out of the shower he puts a towel around his waist. "I mean, what is that about?"

I think this was meant to be for a laugh. If not, I stand corrected MrCleveland. But I think some need to grow a sense of humor

This one is kind of dumb when you think about it. Donald doesn't wear pants anyway. Why would he cover his genital area when his shirt blows off if he wasn't wearing pants to begin with?

Also, I hate to side with RetroJerk and disagree with jango52577, but this isn't nearly as thought provoking as racism or violence. This isn't real nudity, after all. And this joke would still work, even removed from the time period it was made.

Very interesting and thought provoking read!
RetroJerk Posted 3 years 4 months ago
This is so short it can barely be considered an article. Something like this would make for a better comment than article. Im getting sick of your articles anyhow, did you have an enjoyable childhood or did you just go around thinking about how cartoons are naked, suicidal, racists? How about writing about something happy instead of every single little negative thing you can find in each and every cartoon?

You've found a good niche: Cartoon Controversy!
Spottedfeather Posted 3 years 4 months ago
One thing I think is weird. Mickey Mouse wears pants and no shirt. Donald Duck wears shirt and no pants. I'm guessing that there aren't any cartoon police that will arrest him for exposing himself.
