Mortal Kombat (1995)
a great movie based on the video games
I'm reviewing a live-action version of a great arcade video game, Mortal Kombat by explaining the good things.
The first few minutes were very good and after watching some of the awesome action sequences, I gotta say that I liked the actors that portrayed the same characters from the video game. One of the scenes that included a CGI effect on some sort of snake or something was pretty darn cool. The only thing that I liked the most was that catchy theme song from the game and I am definitely putting it in My Top 10 Catchy Theme Songs for some other time.
Maybe I should play that game someday when I like get it for christmas or my birthday next year. That would be better.
Long story short, this movie is awesome and its way better than horrible video game adaptations like Double Dragon and Street Fighter. To tell the truth, I've never heard of this guy Paul W.S. Anderson, but good thing I know he directed and he turned down his sequel ideas and made those Resident Evil movies. that's a shame.
Bottomline, this movie is awesome for die-hard Mortal Kombat fans (even though I didn't play the video game).
