Sonic the Hedgehog is my favorite character who's not Disney. (I mean, seriously, can you beat Mickey)? The reason why, for me, anyway, may not be only in his amazing video games, (which, yes, I LOVE THEM!), but his phenomenal television career.

The year was 1993. The channel.... uh... none, because DIC made AOSTH pretty 'funny' and they had it put in syndication. Not that it's a bad show or anything. Heck, I have both box sets of the series on DVD sitting right next to me at the moment. But compared to the two other 90's Sonic cartoons, it just doesn't have the same effect on me. I like how close it sticks to the video games, but I wish it was a little darker. The animation's okay, not the greatest, as there are a few minor lapses in the framework in a few episodes. The story line is an annoyance at best for me as I'd like a little more continuity like in SatAM, where if something is destroyed, it's gone. However, the humor is like a toned down version of a kids show that's laughable at times. I like this show, however, because of the messages Sonic gives the kids at the end of each and every show.

Now on to my favorite Sonic show of all time, SatAM!!! I love this show so much! It's dark, it's sinister, it's what Sonic should be! The animation's terrific in this show! It's fluent and well-drawn. The story is amazing, as well! I love the continuity of the series, and it's just so greatly written that I'm outraged it didn't win (or at least had been nominated for) an Oscar, Emmy, Golden Globe, Kids Choice... you name it! Voice acting's great, everything's just great. It's definitely in my top 3 shows of the 90s.

Sonic Underground. I honestly don't know why people hate this show. It's amazing, it has a great story, animations great, not perfect, as I prefer SatAM's way of drawing Sonic better, but still great! The story is great, and I like the addition of Sonia and Manic. Another big part of Sonic Underground is obviously the music. Believe it or not, 'Never Easy For Us' is my most listened to on iTunes. (Love ya, iTunes). It's just another one of DIC's series to exceed my expectations.

So that's my take on Sonic's television career. Be sure to check in as I examine other shows and the like from the 80's and 90's in depth.

Up, Over, and GONE!!!
