A live action Voltron movie???

lets talk about hollywood's next attempt to get me in a theater seat...

Ok so I have heard (through rumor and net surfing) that plans are a-rollin' for a new movie based on Voltron.

I am not sure how to feel about this one. Let's look at the facts:

1. Hollywood has a huge reputation for destroying old classic TV show, cartoon and video game franchises by turning them into crap!

2. 80's cartoons/TV shows were mainly based in the realm of fantasy or sci-fi...very hard when trying to establish character building in film and TV.

3. Artistic license is always the one that kills the plot for these type of films and shows. Like take Captain N...did these people ever even PLAY nintendo...GOD!

so....what do you think? Should we get our hopes up on this or try to hold everything we remember of Voltron in our hearts before the Film Machine descends on it and mauls it to death. What actors do you think should be cast as the roles? Will they go CGI (more likely) or should they use the old school methods of lighting, shadows, camera angles and tricks, and props and miniatures? Leave your thoughts.....and thanks for reading!!!

Not sure how this is retro, since you're talking about a movie that hasn't even come out yet.

A better tactic might have been to tell us *why* you liked the original so much and to even give those of us who know nothing about it (like me) a reason to check it out.

And then, you could have explained that a movie was being made and that you're apprehensive about it.

Honestly, I just don't know why this couldn't have been a forum topic; because it fails to deliver as an article.
