Spider-Man 1994:

This was an amazing show, Marvel comics had a huge following and it just seemed right to make a newage Spider-Man cartoon, the animation was top notch, voice acting was incredible and no episodes seemed useless and uninteresting. All the villains looked amazing and I would wake up early every Saturday morning just to get my weekly dosage of the awesomeness that is Spider-Man!

Spider-Man: The New Animated Series 2003

The Spider-Man movies were wildly successful at this point, kids were loving them, parents were loving them, people in their 20's marvelled (no pun intended) at the awesomeness of the Spider-Man movies. (well atleast the first two). MTV gets this bright idea in their heads, because we all know MTV is full of bright ideas, "Oh hey lets put this crappy Spider-Man cartoon that has terrible CGI animation, on our channel seeing as kids pretty much watch whatever is infront of them, and we will make a pile of money." If it was anything other than that I am suprised, because this show was pathetic. The only saving grace it had was Neil Patrick Harris as the voice of Spider-Man, and if I really wanted some NPH action I would get it from Harold and Kumar.

The Spectacular Spider-Man 2008

Don't even get me started on this piece of newage trash, they make Spider-Man out to be a little baby or someting, he looks like a crimefighting ten year old, the episodes are nonsensical, the action doesn't even look good, the villians often have creepy voices not to mention it is terribly voice acted. They are definitely riding off of the success of the Movie franchise just in time for the 4th and 5th installment, let's not even forget how rushed and irratic the 3rd movie was.

In conclusion, I wish they would take more pride in cartoons these days, Spider-Man is just one example but they are doing it to everything, X-Men, TMNT, etc...

I plan to buy/download all of the old cartoons I used to love as a child for when I have kids, because it would be cruel and usual punishment to subject them to the cartoons coming out these days.
