One day on January 1st 1970, little did people know,a fantastic 3 decades await! yup, the 70s, 80s, and 90s where the big three decades we retrojunkies love the most, ok, ill shut up so you guys can see how life back then was. in the three golden decades. (NOTE: I'm a 90s kid so some of the 70s and 80s stuff might not be accurate.
*Back when music was at it's best, we got rock,disco, some jazz, ect. As opposed to (read the section below about today)
*Back when Toy cars where cool.
* back when we had early release at school and your pals would come to your place and party
*Back when kids TV rocked mostly, we got Rugrats, doug, EEK! the cat, dexter's lab, old power rangers, Aaah! real monsters, are you araid of the dark?, salute your shorts, kenan and kel, clarissa, batman tas, iron man, old johnny bravo, angry beavers, rocko's modern life, cow and chicken, ren and stimpy, darkwing duck, you can't do that on TV, AND ALMOST EVERY THING ON OLD NICK,OLD CARTOON NETWORK, FOX KIDS, DISNEY, ABC, CBS, AND THAT OTHER STUFF!!
*Back when being a kid meant "living life and making the best of it"
*Back when you'd go to the video store and rent VHS tapes.
*back when you'd play SNES, NES, N64, master system, genesis, ps1, sega saturn, with your pals.
*Back when parents were smart and didn't treat you like a baby that needs a lot of shelter.
*Back when You had a windows 95/98
*Back when you would watch family guy, beavis and butthead, south park, and the simpsons whether your parents let you or not.
*Back when you'd be desperate to tape and send something to AFHV.
*Back when you'd get ur friends and play stuff like "star trek" on the playground
*back when the economy was good.
Theres tons of more but then.....
On January 1st 2000. little did people know, the old times would go down the drain and would be replaced by what most of us call "The sucky years or the 2000s" take a look.
*Now, being a kid means, "OMG!!! YOU HAVE TO BE EXTREMELY COOL OR YOU HAVE TO COMMIT SUICIDE IT'S SO FIGGIN AWESOME!! YOU HAVE TO SAY DUDE AND COOL IN EVERY SENTENCE OR ELSE UR GONNA DIE OMG!! YOU HAVE TO ALWAYS DRESS IN BLACK AN THATS IT!! DUDE!!!! YOU GOTTA WEAR BASEBALL CAPS AND TATTOOS ALL THE TIME!!!" all i can say is, "what the hell was that all about?!"
*The economy now is crap
* Kids TV is sooo stupid!!! all the old shows are gone! Kids are being forced to watch (and are getting used to) The mighty B!, all grown up, zack and cody, danny phantom, fairly oddparents, icarly, zoey 101, dance on sunset, drake and josh, hanna montana, the naked brothers band, (whats up with stupid kids shows that are all about whiny teens and they're retarded problems), chowder, flapjack, foster home for imaginary friends,
and all that other crap.
*Music sucks now!! we now have stupid emo,hip hop, and retarded stuff like that! (at least we got an oldies station)
* Now, we can't go anywhere online, or in real life without seeing that miley cyrus b*tch.
*Parents are EXTREMELY over protective!!!
*Kids don't care about toys anymore (even some of the most awesome ones).
*Now kids do nothing but act like a bunch of posers on the playground.
*Now every kid is sooooooooo destined to get a myspace account even if they are underage.
*we have to rent DVDs (which, i may be acting stupid, are not the same.)
WAAAAAAHHH!!! i want my three golden decades back!!!

Wow this was super duper stupid! "Waaaaa I want my three decades back" What are you talking about? How can someone who's a 90s kid refer to the 70s and 80s as two of "thier decades". Oh, and "Sneaking to watch Family Guy, Simpsons, Beavis and Butthead, and South Park" You've gotta be kidding me! South Park and Family Guy didn't get big until the 2000s, and hundreds of kids tune into them every night. (By the way, as a kid in the 90s, my dad and I watched Beavis and Butthead together... no sneaking around.)

Give it up already, stop whining. Time doesn't go back, so you might as well deal with it. Everyone else has moved on, why won't some of you?

Every generation has their music tastes. People from the 60's hated music from the 70's. People from the 70's hated music from the 80's, ect....
So you don't like the TV shows. Big deal. 80's kids said that 90's cartoons were pathetic. Its a generation thing as well. We seem to assume only one generation and one generation only is the best
urs. Certainly, our parents didn't like/understand the shows we're interested in due to the gap.
I sure miss my NES and like a bunch of SNES games...but I really like a lot of modern Nintendo games too! Trust me, Nintendo still knows the formula for good games.
People still don't listen to their parents and watch what they want. Really, has any generaton ever listened to their folks?
......People don't commit suicide because its awesome. We're only really aware of it now because in the past its been hushed up, and pinned on only bad kids with bad familys. Much like how in the 80's, only gay people got AIDs. And if someone with AIDs touched you, you'd get it too.
The economy has been crap lots of time. Admittidly, this time it looks like we're heading towards another depression, but even so, the economy roller coasters all the time. It gets bad, then good, drops down the bad, rises back up to good....
Celebrity news has always been a thing. Thats nothing new to complain about.
A lot of parents are really over protective. Some more then others. There are a number of different factors as well. In a large family, eventually you don't become as protective as in the begining, due to so much experience vs. a small one. Or you might live in a bad part of town. Why does it matter anyways?
And trust me, kids definitly still care about toys.
And are you complaining about DVDs? Are you SERIOUS?! The format thats more durable then VHS. The format that lasts longer then VHS. The format that allows you to watch only certain parts of a movie right away for whatever reason. The format that you don't have to painstakingly rewind, or have to worry if you have to rewind because of the idiot who rented before you (and if your VHS player rewinds super slow, its agonizing). The format that has much better quality. You're kidding...right?

There are *sooooo* many things wrong with this "article."
As someone who lived through all those decades (I was born in the 60s, another cool decade you overlooked), I have no issues with how things are today. Believe it or not, things are kind of the same as they used to be...and let's see how:
==
*The economy now is crap
==
Yes, because the economy wasn't crap in the 80s during the big recession. Oh wait...you weren't born yet, so I guess you wouldn't know that the 80s is when we began to notice that the number of people who were "homeless" was becoming an epidemic.
==
==
As I've said many times to people on this site...you only think it sucks because your generation has come and gone. I grew up watching cartoons in the 70s and 80s...and I don't have a problem with modern cartoons at all. Seriously, Spongebob Squarepants is hilarious.
And if you think we didn't have whiny teenage shows back in the day, then I guess you never watched "Saved By the Bell."
==
*Music sucks now!! we now have stupid emo,hip hop, and retarded stuff like that! (at least we got an oldies station)
==
Yeah, people used to tell me that 80s music sucked when it was the 80s. Now everyone thinks it's really cool...but I remember the guys from the 70s being really mad over new wave music and so many electric keyboards being used in music. *shrug* Music changes with the time. Get over it. You sound like an old man.
==
* Now, we can't go anywhere online, or in real life without seeing that miley cyrus b*tch.
==
First off, I don't think it's appropriate to call someone underage a nasty name like that. What did she ever do to you?
Secondly, just because you don't like it doesn't mean that it's bad. Previous generations had folks like David Cassidy and Michael Jackson in the media at every turn. Even before the internet, they managed to be everywhere. If you don't like someone, then just ignore them.
==
*Parents are EXTREMELY over protective!!!
==
Parents have reason to be over protective as compared to the old days. There's a lot more bad things going on in the world than what went on 30 or so years ago. Last time I checked, the world is not a nice place.
==
*Kids don't care about toys anymore (even some of the most awesome ones).
==
Who the hell told you that? Toys 'R Us will be shocked to learn this news.
==
*Now kids do nothing but act like a bunch of posers on the playground.
==
Someone sounds jealous.
No, seriously...where did this come from?
==
*Now every kid is sooooooooo destined to get a myspace account even if they are underage.
==
You know, there is nothing wrong with MySpace. It gets a bad reputation because of the idiot stalkers who go there. We live in the golden age of the internet. Learn to deal.
==
*we have to rent DVDs (which, i may be acting stupid, are not the same.)
==
You're right. They're better.
==
WAAAAAAHHH!!! i want my three golden decades back!!!
==
You didn't have them to start with. Stop feeling nostalgic for eras you didn't live through. I'm here to tell you they weren't all peaches and cream no matter how the media plays them up. There was as much suckage in those decades as there is now...but the crap gets forgotten over time and the good stuff remains and everyone looks back and says: "Hey, that was a cool decade." So, whatever.
The 90s totally sucked too...but I'm sure in about 10 years people will be talking about how cool it was.

Call the waaaaaaaaaaaamublance!
How can you write about a decade you didn't live through (unless you do proper research on that particular decade)?
This article is poorly written and I'm going to give it a thumbs down.
